Joshua Whitehouse is an active freelance player in the Phoenix area. He is a member of the Sonoran Brass Quintet and frequently performs with the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and other orchestras in the Southwest. In addition, he has performed with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic, the Bangor Symphony, Portland Symphony, and Haddonfield Symphony and appeared as a soloist with the Arcady Chamber Orchestra, University of Rhode Island Chamber Orchestra, and Arizona State Wind Symphony.
Previously, Mr. Whitehouse held the position of Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Music Theory at the University of Maine before moving to Arizona to pursue doctoral studies at Arizona State University. Previously, he studied at the University of Maine (M.M., 1997), Curtis Institute (B.M., 1995), Eastman School of Music and Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute. His teachers have included David Hickman, Rudy Nashan, Charles Geyer, and Donald Stratton.
